A Crow Worshiping Festival in Nepal

Crows Worshiping Festival

Crows are worshiped on the day of "Kaag Pooja" all over Nepal on every November believing that the crows are incarnation of the god. In ancient time, the crows were messengers also and they delivered important messages to the people of different geographical locations, it is believed. They reached different difficult and extreme far locations with their flying skills to deliver the important messages.
Somewhere crows are the causes of giving birth to  the different plants. How it happens? When the crows eat ripped fruits they cannot digest its seeds and pass out the seeds in original condition. The passed out seeds start germination after getting contact with the soil and air. Finally, the seeds get the shape of different trees.

The other interesting fact about the crow is- setting a fire. Sometimes the crows grab a dried burning bush and drop it on the roof of different houses. The crows are smart enough to hold the non-burning end of the bush to be protected from the fire. Why the crows set fire? It is still unknown.

When a crow is killed by a hunter and fallen down on a surface, almost all the crows from the same community either walk or fly around the dead crow to express their condolences for a longer period.

The crows are considered very wise and clever in a bird kingdom.

On the day of "Kaag Puja", the crows worshiping day, crows are given different types of sweets, fruits, and other edible stuffs to eat from different households. The "Kaag Puja" is celebrated as a festival all over Nepal.
