The Bank and the Flood-Fiction of the week - 2

Short Fiction

The Bank and the Flood

Once there was a time when the bank of a river feared the flood and stayed aside. The powerful flood sometimes would crack and hurt the bank. This devastation was going on for a long time. The bank that lived everyday in fear decided to free itself from the constant fear once and forever. The bank of the river started gathering soils and stones that the flood had brought along. The bank of the river became non-erodible; it became immune to the flood. The flood was then obliged to flow within its boundary.
